Fun Facts

Summer of 1953

A contest was held, sponsored by E.W. Honhart of Starbrick, PA. for lists of names on the river and names of Pilots who rafted lumber from Warren, PA to Pittsburgh, PA. A Five dollar prize was offered for the winner in each category.

Yesterday, there was an advisory board meeting. We talked about all kinds of things…but my very favorite thing  was about the Musarium Without Walls project and the Pepsi Refresh project.

Musarium Without Walls was discussed as a children’s learning experience, but our friend from Audobon  suggested we look at it as a learning experience for adults as well.

Sounds like a grand idea to me. And as to Pepsi Refresh…well. As soon as we get the page set up, we’ll fill you all in on that idea. We have a very narrow window here, so we have to move fast. I heard tonight that some fellow wants money to save the bees and the Blue Streak wants restoration money.  Time to jazz it up and get things moving forward now!

Steve Horsley told us about a Geocache event that will be here next July. That sounds like fun. We’ll have more information on that as we move along.

Remember to act locally and think globally. What we do here will affect everyone everywhere. Like the field of dreams, if we build it, they will come.

Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook and tell your friends. We’re always seeking new volunteers.
