Summer of 1953
A contest was held, sponsored by E.W. Honhart of Starbrick, PA. for lists of names on the river and names of Pilots who rafted lumber from Warren, PA to Pittsburgh, PA. A Five dollar prize was offered for the winner in each category.

So many people came from and events happened in the Allegheny River valley. This is the perfect venue to showcase them. The river rafters getting the logs down stream, Tons of logs, not just a few. Oil discovered at the Mystery well before the oil industry really got started. There are so many stories of the people in the valley, they need to be in a museum that uses all of your senses. The glaciers (cold), the river begins (a tiny trickle in NY), the Seneca Indians (archeological dig), the National Forest, the Allegheny River and much more to discover, feel, smell, listen to, and enjoy.
